Enterprise Solution Delivery: Building Really Big Systems with SAFe

As organizations build and deploy ever-larger applications—in increasingly complex, connected, and unpredictable environments—systems and software engineers, architects, designers, developers, testers, and others face even more significant challenges. These solutions often require multi-year roadmaps, coordinate multiple ARTs and suppliers, meet regulatory compliance, and address hardware and other long lead-time items. SAFe’s Enterprise Solution Delivery competency defines nine practices that provide guidance applying SAFe and Lean-Agile principles when building these systems. This workshop presents the latest thinking on those evolving practices for scaling SAFe to some of the worlds largest systems.

Prerequisites: Prior knowledge of SAFe and experiences with large solution challenges

Intended Audience: Anyone contributing to the development of large IT and cyber-physical systems

Continuous Learning Culture

SAFe 5.0 introduced two new competencies of the Lean Enterprise required to achieve business agility – Organizational Agility and a Continuous Learning Culture. The Continuous Learning Culture competency describes a set of values and practices that encourage individuals—and the enterprise as a whole—to continually increase knowledge, competence, performance, and innovation. This is achieved by becoming a learning organization, committing to relentless improvement, and promoting a culture of innovation. This workshop will provide a deeper dive into this new SAFe competency by exploring each of the aspects of a Continuous Learning Culture, and will also draw connections between this competency and the role leaders play in creating the environment that allows a learning culture to emerge. Through interaction with the assessments created by Scaled Agile to help diagnose and assess where an organization is in its journey to embracing a continuous learning culture, attendees will identify actions or “grows” that they can implement within their organizations to facilitate this culture shift.

Prerequisites: Basic understanding of SAFe

Intended Audience: Anyone in a position to lead or influence learning culture practices within an organization
